Hi I am Mike Coon, ok, so I don't prefer to have my picture taken, but as you can see from my pages in the menu above, I am a performance and muscle car junkie. One of my favorite toys and I enjoy driving in my collection is the HURST SC/Rambler. I am having mixed emotions about selling her. I always wanted one of my own and today they are so rare to come by, so if I sell it now, well you know the drill (no pun intended).
How I got to know the Scramblers happened many years ago when a life long friend of mine, Robin had a B scheme. My memories of that car take me back ways! I use to walk by that car on my way to high school. A Michigan state cop bought the car new to pull a trailer with. After 2 years. that cop sold it to Robin for $1500.00 it had 40,000 miles on it at that time. Robin installed a moon gas pedal and left the rest stock. When he went to the drag strip for the first time, everybody laughed at him until he smoked everybody in his class at Kalena Dragstrip 1972.
I had also learned from Robin that he raced and beat one of the fastest cars in town back in 1972. Al Hagler, he had a 67 Z-28 302 with headers, 4:11's and a few other bolt on's. Just imagine the rush of that all, when these cars were only a couple of years old. He later sold the car for a $1,000.00 I almost bought it. Al still has that same car today. My friend Robin died a year a go I still miss him, he was a real car guy!
